Son Tra Peninsula & Linh Ung Pagoda: sunrise beneath the Lady Buddha

Linh Ung Pagoda sits on the Son Tra Peninsula, about 8 km from My Khe beach along a gorgeous coastal road — roughly a 15-minute drive. Locals nickname the peninsula "Monkey Mountain" for the monkeys still living in its forest.

• The 67 m Lady Buddha (Quan Am) — Vietnam's tallest Buddha statue, facing the sea as if watching over the fishermen.

Good to know

• The pagoda opens roughly 6:00–18:00; entry is free.
• Dress modestly — shoulders and knees covered; bring a wrap if you're coming from the beach.
• Go early for sunrise over the sea, and to beat the heat and peak-hour tour buses.
• Don't feed or tease the monkeys; hold your bags. The mountain road is winding, so ride carefully.
