VIETNAM – WHERE WORLD CUISINES MEET

From Pho, Bun Bo Hue, and Mi Quang to Japanese sushi, Korean barbecue, Italian pasta, and Thai Tom Yum Goong, Vietnam today not only boasts a distinctive indigenous culinary scene but is also gradually transforming into a regional "culinary stage" – a place where Vietnamese culture is introduced to the world, and international cuisines coexist, interact, and flourish.

VIETNAM – WHERE WORLD CUISINES MEET

From Phở, Bún Bò Huế, Mì Quảng to Japanese sushi, Korean barbecue, Italian pasta, or Thai Tom Yum Goong, Vietnam today not only boasts a distinctive indigenous culinary scene but is gradually becoming a regional "culinary stage" – where Vietnamese culture is introduced to the world, and international cuisines coexist, interact, and flourish.

The interesting thing is that this internationalization does not diminish Vietnamese cuisine.

On the contrary, the more cuisines that appear, the more opportunities the identity of Hanoi's Phở, Hue's Bún Bò, Hoi An's Cao Lầu, Mì Quảng, Bánh Xèo, and thousands of other regional Vietnamese dishes have to be recognized, compared, and explored.

First and foremost, Vietnam is a land of diverse local cuisines

It's perhaps difficult to speak of a single "Vietnamese cuisine."

From the northern mountains down to the Red River Delta, through the Central region, Central Highlands, and then to the Southern region and Mekong Delta, each area creates distinct ingredients, cooking methods, and dining customs.

The official Vietnam Tourism website also introduces the country's cuisine in this very spirit: Hanoi has Bún Chả; Hue has Bún Bò; Hoi An has Cao Lầu; the South has Bánh Xèo; alongside a vast world of home-cooked meals, street food stalls, and contemporary Vietnamese cuisine.

Cuisine, therefore, is like a cultural map.

To journey through Vietnam via its food is also to journey through the geography, climate, history, and daily life of each community.

The Vietnam Culinary Culture Association – VCCA – identifies one of its directions as "Building & Developing Vietnamese Culinary Culture into a National Brand", while also considering culinary culture a crucial component in preserving and promoting Vietnamese identity to international tourists.

This is a very noteworthy perspective:

**Cuisine doesn't just serve tourism; cuisine itself can become a reason
